 Hi there Afon!
We made it - this is the last week of home learning! Hooray!
We are back to our chocolate focus and will be really focussing on Charlie and the Chocolate Factory in English and in Topic. Lord Sugar has our final challenge which we will start this week. This is serious business; by the end of term, he wants us to make some money! So, get your thinking caps on pawb!
In Maths we will be revising converting analogue and digital time and learning about 12 and 24 hour time.
We will be thinking about loving our enemies in our RE topic of Self-discipline - quite a challenge I'm sure you'll agree.
Check out the schedule for Teacher Time on TEAMS in the Learn Pack. Everything you need for your learning (sheets, links, success criteria etc.) is included in the pack to make it easier for you.
If you have any requests for the sessions let me know on Dojo or in TEAMS. On Friday afternoon we will have a TTT Party in TEAMS to celebrate the end of Home Learning! Bring your drink and snacks and we'll play some party games!
See you in TEAMS!

Hi Afon -Dydd Gŵyl Dewi Hapus!
Croeso i 'Wythnos Gymru' - welcome to Wales Week!
We have a very Welsh flavour to our learning this week.
Check out the new Learning Pack, it is stuffed full of all sorts of Welsh themed activities and fun things to do.
We will be looking at Welsh myths and legends, solving Welsh themed problems and taking part in competitions.
Lord Sugar has even joined in with the Welsh theme and has set us a task linked to tourism in Wales - a very hot topic at the moment!
I'm looking forward to seeing you all in TTT - Teacher Time on TEAMS. We are live at 10.00am and 1,30pm every day.
See you in TEAMS!

Hello Afon!
I hope you have all had a lovely half term. I can't wait to see you again in TEAMS! We will be having two TEAMS live lessons every day from now on. The first lesson will be at 10.00am and the second will be at 1.30pm.
I've put our new Learning Pack on here for you. It has all the links and documents in it to make it a bit easier for you to find everything you need.
We will be continuing our writing about the chocolate making process and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. In Maths we will be learning about types of triangles, 2D shape and symmetry.
Lord Sugar has been in contact again and was very impressed with the menu descriptions which he has passed on to Jamie Oliver. He has another task for us: he is thinking about getting back into the gaming business. At the age of 21 he founded the Amstrad company which developed one of the first ever gaming computers/consoles. He said he’s now a bit out of touch and doesn’t know the difference between an Xbox and an egg box let alone what games are popular today! He has asked if you would help him get up to date with the latest popular video games by writing a brief description and review of your favourite video game in order to help him to ‘get down with the kids’ as he put it!
In RE, we will be looking at the Our Father and how it links to the Last Supper and the Mass. We will also be Super Scientists when we look at reversible and irreversible changes in materials.
Don't forget about the extra curricular pack if you are looking for something fun to do and I've also put on the latest copy of First News for all that latest about what's happening in the world.
See you in TEAMS!

Hey Afon!
I hope you are all keeping safe and well and have had a good weekend.
I've uploaded the new learn pack for this week on the left for you. I think you'll enjoy it. All the materials and links are included in the pack for you. We will be learning lots of new vocabulary to describe food which will come in handy as we have been recommended by Lord Sugar to help Jamie Oliver with some ideas for his new restaurant's menu!
We will also be kitchen scientists this week when we look at the solubility of different materials.
On Tuesday we will be having a focus on Safer Internet Day in our Teacher Time on TEAMS and I've included a link for your grown ups on Dojo.
Friday will be an Inset day so there is no formal home learning, however, there is a link on the learn pack for a virtual trip to Chester Zoo which I thought you might enjoy and I've also included the Extra Curricular Pack for you to explore of you feel like it too. There are also some lovely ideas for non-screen activities that you might like to look at too.
I've put the latest copy of First News for you to read with interesting articles about blue lightning, protecting hedgehogs and why wombats have cube-shaped poo!
I think the weather is going to be rather chilly this week so why no get wrapped up warm and blow the cobwebs away with a brisk walk.
Missing you all,
See you in TEAMS 2.30 everyday!
Mrs Lewis

Hi there Afon,
I hope you enjoyed the snow again this weekend!
I've got a fun filled week of activities for you, many of which are linked to chocolate - yum, yum!
To make things a bit easier, I've included all the support materials, links and sheets to help you in the Learning Pack.

I've put together a little timetable for you at the beginning of the pack to help you pace yourself. This includes a little clue as to what we will be doing in our Teacher Time on TEAMS (TTT).
I've themed the days of the week so we have:
Marvellous Monday - when we kick off our learning for the week.
Topic Tuesday - a focus on our Junior Apprentice topic.
Wellbeing Wednesday - a chance to focus on you.
Thinking Thursday - a P4C or problem solving focus.
Funday Friday - does what it says on the tin ... fun and games!

This week is Children's Mental Health Week so we will be thinking about keeping our minds fit and healthy. There is a special focus on this in TTT and in our Learning Pack on Wellbeing Wednesday.
I have sent a link on Dojo to a special worship for you to watch. We will look at it in TTT too.
I've added a pdf on the left of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl as well as a link to a video of the story being read with the text. The latest issue of First News is on the left too - enjoy!
Can't wait to see you in TTT!

Hi there everyone,
I hope you've had a lovely time playing in the snow!
I've uploaded the new learning pack here and on Dojo. All the support materials and worksheets are in the pack if you'd like to use them.
This time your learning pack is for the whole week so you can see what you need to do and pace yourself. I have used two English sessions to cover spelling and handwriting so the pace should be a little easier for you. The maths sessions this week are focussing on fractions and are significantly shorter than last weeks sessions.
There is only one RE task which is a P4C discussion for you to have with your family as the other session we will cover in one of our Teacher Time sessions.
Hopefully this will allow you more time to focus on our topic and maybe some of the extra curricular activities that are on offer.
See you in TEAMS 2.30pm everyday!

Hi Afon,
Here's your new learning pack for the next two days. I have
put all the resources into the learning pack to make it a bit easier for you to download and print if you need to.
We have moved onto patterns in multiplication in maths. There are a few tasks at the end of the learning pack but you don't have to complete them all, just pick your challenge level. We will be planning and writing the climax of the robin story - I can't wait to read those!
I have also put the new Extra Curricular Pack here for you to look at. These packs will be shared fortnightly and they will include some of the things we might do in our after-school clubs.
The packs have lots of ideas and activities that you might have a go at if you wish to do so. You might just want to try out one activity that you are most interested in or you might want to have a go at a few. These activities are optional, you are not expected to complete all or any of them. However, if you do have a go at any of the activities, we'd love you to share some photos with us so we can put them on our whole school story on a Friday and on Twitter.
See you in TEAMS!
Mrs Lewis

Hi there Afon,
Well done for all your hard work last week. I'm so impressed by the standard of the work you are sending me!
It has been fantastic seeing you in our Teacher Time sessions every day too.
We will be continuing with the Robin unit in English this week. I have included new spelling words in our English this week too. In our Maths we will have a quick revision of column addition and subtraction before we move on to multiplication. I have made some worksheets which you might find helpful for setting out your maths this week.
We will continue our exploration of the Community topic in RE by looking at the ministries in our parish. I have uploaded a fun interactive activity about the church on here to the left.
Lord Sugar was very impressed by the topic work he saw last week too as was I.
Keep up the hard work pawb!
See you on TEAMS,

Hi Afon,
It has been great seeing you in our live sessions everyday! Here is our learning for the next two days. Keep up all the hard work and if you have any questions you can email me, get your grown-ups to ask me on Dojo or simply ask in our daily live lessons. I've also included the CLIC lesson PowerPoint on here in case you want to go back over it.
In the files below are some helpful PowerPoints and worksheets I've made to support your video lessons and the work in your learning pack. I've uploaded the Robin planning sheet as a Word document which you can edit and email to me and as a pdf which you can print and take a photo of to send on Dojo. You can do whichever is the easiest for you. The maths sheets are just to make it a bit easier for you to record your work in the video lessons.
See you on TEAMS!

I hope you are all safe and well. In our home learning this week we will be continuing with the Robin unit. I have been so impressed with all your work so far on this unit. In Maths we will continue to work on place value and rounding to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000.
At the end of your planner you will find a new topic homework grid. I will be introducing our new client and commission in our Teacher Time LIVE session on TEAMS - I think you will be very excited!
Don't forget to join me every afternoon at 2.30pm on the TEAMS app. Make sure you log in using your Hwb username and password. For more details and support on how to join, please look at the pdf on School Dojo that was sent out last week.

Hi there Afon!
I know you must be really disappointed that we aren't in school to enjoy the end of term but being safe and thinking of others is far more important at the moment. I promise I will make it up to you in the new year.
I've put together some fun home learning activities for you to do on the left. The top file is where all your lessons are. The other two files are fun activities for the last two days of the week. In the top home learning file, there are links in blue that you can click on to access the lessons and resources. It would be so lovely to see the work that you are doing. You can complete your work on paper or on Office 365 in Hwb and email it to me. My email address is lewiss490@hwbcymru.net or you can take photos of it and put them on Dojo. I've also added some Christmas activity booklets that you might enjoy doing.
It would be great to see photographs of your learning so we can share it with each other on Dojo at the end of the week. Please keep in touch!
Take care, stay safe and have a peaceful Christmas,
love Mrs Lewis xx

Hi Afon!
I'm really missing you all! I hope you are all keeping safe and well and being good for your grown ups!
Please find this week's Learning Pack below.

In the pack, you will find a range of activities to help you with your reading, writing and oracy skills as well as lots of fun maths activities. There is a topic focus about 'family' as you are probably spending lots of time together! The pack is designed so that you complete: a Maths activity; carry out some reading; practise your spellings and do some writing and/or topic work daily.  At the end of the pack are some additional website with activities you may like to look at if you need something to do!
You can access your Abacus Maths account by googling Abacus Active Learn and logging in using your username (first four letters of your first name and the first four letters of your surname - my username would be saralewi), the password is river and the school code is 7g9l (l for lemon). If you are having any difficulties, you can contact me on Dojo.

Please send me any photos of activities you complete on Dojo. There is also a shared diary you can read and add to on Google for Education on Hwb.

Above all, please use this time to relax and have some fun with your family - have a movie night, bake a cake, camp out in the garden and remember to clap for our key workers on Thursdays at 8pm.   Be good for your grown ups and help out around the house as much as you can! Remember to say your prayers and to stay safe.
Missing you all very much!

Mrs Lewis

Well, we finally made it! It has been lovely to see so many of you in school over the last couple of weeks - you've all grown so much!
I'd like to thank you and your grown-ups for all the hard work you have been doing with your home learning during Lockdown. It has been fantastic seeing your work, photographs and reading your emails and messages.
On the link above, you will find our final Learning Pack before we break up for the Summer. The focus is transition as we prepare to move on into the next year group/class. The pack is a bit different this time and I hope you enjoy the activities.
Take care my sweethearts and have a well deserved break. My Dojo account will remain open 24/7 over the summer holidays in case you need to contact me.

I hope you are all keeping well. I'm really looking forward to seeing some of you over the next few weeks!
The next Learning Pack is all about music. There are lots of fun activities linked to music that I'm sure you'll enjoy. There are also lots of chilli challenges for you to do related to your age/confidence level. Check out the different challenges before deciding which heat to choose.
I've also included some E-Safety links for you to explore with your grownups. These will remind you of how to stay safe on and offline.
Don't forget to take photographs of your work and Dojo them to me by Thursday so I can include them in our Friday collage.
At the bottom of the Learning Pack there's a bank of great links to resources that you might enjoy too.

Hi there everyone!
I hope you are all keeping well. Thank you so much for all the amazing work you've been sending to me! It's been great getting feedback from you too. Let me know if there's something that you've particularly enjoyed or that helps you with your learning or if there's something that you are finding too tricky. Also, if there's a topic or activity you'd like us to include in our home learning, just let me know and I'll do my best to include it.
This learning pack focuses on the environment; an issue that I know is close to your hearts. The main focus is energy but if you wanted to change that to plastic pollution or recycling, you can. There are lots of interesting tasks that you can choose from all of which are designed to have a positive impact by putting our learning into action.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
Take care and be good for your grown-ups,

Hi there Afon!
I hope you've had a lovely half term break. I'm sure you've made the most of the beautiful weather. Remember to SLIP, SLAP and SLOP - slip on a t-shirt, slap on a hat and slop on the sun cream. I've really enjoyed looking at your nature photographs so keep an eye out for them on Twitter and Dojo this week. Take a few minutes to look at some of the fantastic pictures I've received of your home learning here on our page.
Our new mini topic for the next two weeks is - All Creatures Great and Small - I hope you enjoy it. Remember to log in to Abacus for your Maths and Bug Club reading. I've allocated lots of new and exciting books for you to read in the Bug Club button in Abacus. Also, you can add to our Google For Education shared diary to let everyone know what you've been doing over half term. There will be a new P4C online discussion starting on Monday linked to our mini topic. It would be great if you added your first thoughts and agreed/disagreed with other people's thoughts on their slides by adding a text box to comment - remember to add your name so we know who has said what and who to thank.
Take care my sweethearts,
Missing you so much,
