Welcome to Dosbarth Afon!
Dosbarth Afon is home to Year 4 and 5 pupils. The class teacher is Mrs Lewis and the teaching assistant is Mrs Sadd.
Our topic this term is 'Ancient Egypt.'
Our client is Dr. Joann Fletcher who is an Archaeologist from York University.
Our commission is to qualify as Junior Egyptologists and to help search for lost tombs of the Pharaohs.
We have planned our our enquiry to help us become experts so we can assist Dr. Fletcher in her search for the tomb of Queen Nefertiti.
P.E. - Every Tuesday (outdoor) and Wednesday (indoor)
😊Please can pupils wear P.E. kit (white t-shirt and black shorts) and trainers to school on both days.
😊During colder weather (after October half term until Feb/March) pupils can wear black/dark coloured joggers or leggings with their school jumper.
Book Bags/Reading Diaries - Every day
Please can pupils bring their book bags and reading diaries into school every day. Each day pupils will fill in their diaries and also it will be signed when they are heard reading. Please listen to your child read at least three times a week and please sign in the same box when they have read (one box per week.
In order to continue to work towards being a healthy school, pupils are only able to have fresh fruit during the morning break. This comes from Welsh Governments ‘Appetite for Life’ guidance. Pupils can bring in their own fresh fruit if they would like to or they can purchase fruit in school. Pupils can bring this in on a half-termly basis.
Learning Logs (Homework)
Learning logs will be sent home at regualr intervals in book bags. The completed work will be expected in on the date set on the homework slip. Homework will vary but will always include home reading, spelling and timestables. There will also be a topic grid to choose from which will link to the current topic being studied in class. (See Learning Logs for more information)
